Fall Michigan Wedding Thats Sure to Make You Swoon
Brittanie & Ken were married at the Inn at St. Johns in Fall of 2017. With touches of vibrant reds, black tuxedos and minimal design it is a wedding that is sure to please the eye. We love that Brittanie used influences from her favorite Disney movie and decided to let the venues she chose shine through with classic and timeless touches. Here are details from the bride herself!
Q: What was your inspiration behind the day? Any specific style, theme or color palette?
A: "I've always been a huge Disney fan, so the inspiration behind our day was Beauty and the Beast. It's just so timeless, romantic, elegant and whimsical. That was everything we wanted to incorporate in our wedding! Our color palette ranged from gold, to rich berry tones and navy."
Q: Lets talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and reception? Was any of it DIY?
A: "St. Johns Chapel is just so beautiful and breathtaking all by itself, we didn't feel it was needed to add any decor for the ceremony. I fell in love with the way it was! For the reception the candelabra was inspired by Lumiere and the submerged roses were inspired by the infamous floating rose, along with single roses and gold accents around the room. We DIY'd some sinage and favors but everything else was done by Top That Events; they really brought the vision to life."
Q: What were some of your favorite moments/parts of your wedding?
A: "The entire day was personalized to us in the sense that it was everything we had dreamed of. Some of my favorite parts of the day were seeing my husband for the first time when the chapel doors opened and walking out of the ceremony together as husband and wife. I loved our first dance because our song (James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go) was so personal to us, I also loved having a formal exit at the end of the night because it was so much fun to do! Most of all I loved being surrounded by our family and friends and feeling so much love."
